From 500ml, love this format! Right out of the bottle I caught a little port like funk on the nose so I decanted; while it remained after 90 mins it had blown off after 3 hrs (or my nose was shot at that point.)
Charcoal, tar, old barrel. Last bottle and while its fine im not in love.

Been about a year since I last popped one of these.
Not getting much on the nose and while it crosses the palate with a dry and modest tannic bite, I'd still like to see more weight and depth. Regardless, at $32 for 500ml I'd open this any weeknight if I had more of these; I'll drink my remaining bottle in a year based on 45mins slow ox.
Fast forward - now 2.5 hrs slow ox and as I had previously experienced, the wine has notably added both the weight and complexity I was looking for earlier. Flavor profile is still a bit watered down black cherry and plum but the balance, integration and maturity shown in the mouthfeel add sow real interest.
Based on this latter experience I'll push my drinking window to 2027 and add a point of two to my rating g. PLEASE dont hesitate to give this the air it needs l!!

Light decant from a 500ml. Initially showed aged oak, rich, dark fruit and flowers on the nose. Comes across the palate more watered-down than I like; after 75 mins it puts on weight and is more enjoyable, but still lacks depth. Will retry in 9-12 months

Splash decant from 500ml; Love that Neal releases in this format. This has put on a bit of weight since last popping one of these 9 months ago.

Didn't take notes. Nice bottle, needs another 5+ years for the tannins to soften.
