Drank this with tacos to counteract the spiciness. A bit too sweet for my tastes; it seemed almost like a dessert wine. I did not score it since I don't have a lot of experience with Rieslings. Have a couple more bottles in the cellar.

Winery Visit (@ Robert Weil, Rheingau): 90 gr./l. residual sugar in this wine. Tropical fruits, good minerals and petrol in the bouquet. On the palate pineapple and a wonderful balance between sweetness and acidity. Great wine.

Lush, supple and tropical. Has a lot of linen and petrichor tones on the nose too....very beautiful. The palate is supple - which is somewhat expected with 2006. Doesn't have intense acidity and electricity on the palate, but it's a pleasure to drink.

Notes from day two; the nose has really developed exotic peach and mango tones compared to the more mute showing on day one. The palate is soft, plush with lowish acid (acid was stronger on day one) but still manages to have nice precision of flavors. The tropical fruit note - especially melon and citrus - is turned up to a 9 or 10 on the palate with soft floral notes on the finish.

(Robert Weil Kiedridcher Turmberg Spatlese Riesling) #2; COLOR-golden; NOSE-petrol; tire; a little tight; some apricots; mineral action; TASTE-an amazing citrus component on the back-end; like beautiful sugar-dipped lemons & limes being squeezed in the back of my palate; just gorgeous; a honeydew component; sweet apricot syrup as well; a little petrol/tire action; lemons & limes meeting apricots & peaches; very complex; the acidity is very ripe & high; very focused; really polished & elegant; the back-end complexities are much more refined; a more serious Riesling; GV-92
