Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, stone fruits & lemons/limes notes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, minerals, spices, smoky & oak/vanilla in the background. Medium body with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & stone fruits with minerals, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but may develop further with additional aging.

Merry Edwards' 2020 Olivet Lane Chardonnay is a medium golden wine that was 100% whole cluster pressed and 100% barrel fermented (40% new). In those same barrels, the wine was then aged for 11 months sur lie. Popped and poured, it unleashes an attractive aromatic profile of baked apples, citrus, honeysuckle, vanilla and jasmine. Medium-bodied, fresh and with well-integrated alcohol (14.1%), it delivers comparable flavors, adding a significant component of spicy oak. The acidity persists nicely through the mid-palate and lengthy finish. Popped and poured, this does not require much aeration but does need to be served at no lower than cellar temperature. Although it may improve if the oak can better assimilate with cellaring, I would not necessarily count on it. Drink now-2027.

This is a beautiful and rich Chardonnay. Perfectly balanced with lovely tropical fruits. Medium acidity. Touch of creaminess.

Pretty simple wine. Ok, but prefer a chardonnay with a bit more complexity.
