Reductive on the nose. Opens up with air. Baked lemon candy, hints of tropical fruits. Hints of nuts, honey. Tasted blind this would def be Burgundy. Great acidity and overwhelming length. Awsome wine

Oaky on the nose, but in a pleasant way. Nutty. Quite round and full-bodied on the palate. Acidity there in support but a little hollow at first. With air this really freshened and tightened up, green grapey fruit.

A bit disappointing, given the price. Seemed a bit simple, with the oak and reduction in the forefront. Probably needs some cellar time to come together?

Decanted around 3 hours before serving. Poured into Grassl Libertes. Super reduced with a ton of smoke on the nose (almost meme-ified). Fairly light in style, with stone fruit and a stony quality. The reduction here is so dominating -- almost like peat in an Islay.

Dinner with Paul and Jeff (The George Town Club - DC): Really Coche-like, with a lot of reduction. Perhaps Dirk is creating a caricature of Coche wines. Very neutral and cool fruit expression, cool and slightly lean palate. Medium acidity and strong mineral. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it was Chardonnay. Dirk seems to be having a lot of fun with this wine. Really cool and enjoyable.
