Always better when opened well before drinking (or decant for 3-4 hours. we usually open a magnum on Fiday evening and finish the bottle on Sunday (keeping it stored in the cellar). The wine evolves positively and gains richness. I am a die hard fan of these wines and have only rarely been disappointed at any price level (starting from the 2001 vintage). Given the low sulfur levels I always go for magnums, as (in my personal view and not backed up by data) this seems to be an important factor for the stability of the wines.

Big, bold, expressive, bags of spicy fruit; full bodied, flavour packed but spoilt by an out of kilter, unbalanced finish. Others enjoyed this more but did not finish bottle.
