shared with pat at selkirk manor. consistent with other commentators, i am impressed with the rich dark purple color indicating a wine of both youth and substance. on the nose, this is a sugar plum fairy enhanced by a chocolate coating. good follow through on the palate with firm body and firm structure. although quite enjoyable, i fear that this bottle was opened too soon and that additional bottle age will allow the wine to develop greater complexity. will have to see if there is any more on the shelf at the retailer.

Deep, dark purple in color. I continue to love this wine. Only four bottles left of a case purchased one year ago for $12.79/bottle. The nose is hot and dominated by dark unsweetened chocolate with undertones of caramel and pomegranate. Tannins competed with acid through the mid palate to form a distinct flavor of tobacco with cedar and pepper giving way to some to fruit of plum, fig and crème de cassis on the finish. Dry, mouth gripping tannins are the story here that linger for 20+ seconds. As this wine evolves, they should soften and allow more of the fruit to show. If I can only keep my hands off the last four.

- Purple color with fast forming legs and aromas of rose and bell pepper. It's overly acidic and has flavours of cut green grass, dusty and cloves with a light/medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish.
