Tasted side-by-side with an Altesino super Tuscan...and lost, but just by a bit. The acidity is lower, here, and more fruit forward. Probably a preference in style, for me. Very well made; very nice, overall.

This is good but can't rate it more than an 82. Was initially tempted to rate it lower. This does not come together at all and a bit of heat dominates the nose and taste even though it is supposedly only 13.9% alcohol. My comments are based on the bottle being opened for 2 hours or more. This Prima Miscela is composed of: 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. My opinion, this blend just does not come together well. Maybe I held this too long and it does not age well but I placed the drinking window in CT based on what the winery said. Not particularly a fan of this.

Tasted side-by-side with Brian Carter Tuttorosso...and lost, but just by a bit. More cab flavors, here, and less acidity. Nice wine, with good, full flavor and a fine, long finish. Our friend, with less wine experience, preferred the Covington. "I'm in LOVE" she says.

not much aroma, dark black current flavors but kind of flat. No complexity. med tannin. Perhaps it's too old?

Notes of black cherries, blackberries, black pepper with a touch of vanilla on the finish. Excellent!
