Typical Urtziger nose, with petroleum and ripe tropical fruits. Palate shows a bit overripe fruit in this vintage, missing the cut and acidity balance I always get in this wine from other, cooler vintages, but still very nice. Dr. Christoffel did a good job in saving this, and to manage to reach the quality this shows, despite the heat in 2003. Enjoyable wine, but not a top vintage.

Developing nicely now a few years after the last bottle. Never is gonna be focused and linear, but showing secondary and petrol characteristics in addition to the peach-pit and stone fruit qualities. Finish is much better than I recall-apple pienand spice, really tasty. A good match for applesauce and mustard braised pork chops.
