This offered up an incredible array of aromas and flavours including smoke, walnuts, Seville orange marmalade, leather and dry toffee. There is warmth, spice and delicacy, and the final flourish is truly impressive. More delicate than an Oloroso, this is outstanding. CHP 91 pts

Just a leetle bit too sweet to be excellent. Deep brown, a bit shoe polishey, hints of orange peel and chocolate. Lacked the nerve of the manzanilla I had beforehand, and I have had finer and more complex palo cortados than this one.

Interesting wine, tea without milk colour strong candied orange peel nose with some saline, strong dry candied fruit on the palette, long layered finish, quite alcoholic at 20% and that slightly took the edge of it, just a bit to much, not everyone will like this but I did in small doses. Again a wine almost impossible to mark as it is such a one off.

Deep amber. Aroma of oak, iodine and apple. Lovely flavours of oak, nutmeg, mulberry. Deeply mellow, with balancing bitterness.

Nose: nuts, dried fruit, something orange/marmalade about it, very rancio
Palate: quite rich, nutty, dried fruits
Good pairing with chorizo rice, really brought out the creamy nuttiness of the wine. Also paired well with pasta with ragu and miso ramen!
