A bit overripe for my palate, but still balanced in a Zindfandel kind of way. Reminiscent of a well made $15.00 grocery store Zin. Medium Short slightly hot finish.

Opened with pasta. This brambly zin showing dark complexion and spicy overtones of prune, plum, pepper, dank blackberry cobbler. Slight heat, but not too bad at 15.5%, some soyen notes to go along with the aromatics, and maturing dark fruits. This does need some air to open before tasting its best.

(Robert Biale Vineyards Zinfandel Grande Vineyard, Napa Valley) From a 1920s-era vineyard off Silverado Trail, just east of the Oak Knoll District AVA, this could go down as one of the finest Biales ever made: supersaturated in chocolate-raspberry flavors, thick and huge on the palate, yet silky, lively, zesty, impeccably balanced, and remarkably elegant. This Grande magnum was full of rich, bright, deep fruit flavors with very smooth tannins. Well balanced with a clean finish.
