A bit surprised (and puzzled) by this wine. It came across as thin and one-dimensional—like a standard table wine. No obvious flaws and was still quite drinkable; however, aside from simple lemon notes, there wasn't a whole lot there. Hard to imagine it's on the decline, as I've had many Chards from this producer that were older than this which have held up well.

Nice Chardonnay! Lovely light straw color. On the nose, green apple, pineapple, apple pie, and fresh cut grass. Flavors of sweet green apple, nutmeg, and baking spice lead to a long spicy finish. Fresh and lively. In a really good place right now.

J & A's bottle. Those who contributed to the average 89.2 pt score accrued so far must not be fans of cool climate/vintage chardonnays or Chablis, because this is the closest thing to Chablis I've ever tasted from California and in all the right ways. Very pale with muted fruit, excellent minerality and a flinty nose that turns delightfully dieselly with time in the glass. My friends have a case--I'm envious!

The annual bottle at J&A's. Fantastic. Great aromatics and depth on the palate. Best bottle yet--truly drinks like a grand cru Chablis.
