Napa/Sonoma Trip With Some Exceptional Gems; 11/1/2017-11/5/2017 (1800ft Up Cavedale Road, Glen Ellen, CA): Tasted at the winery. A blend of four vineyards: Smothers-Remick Ridge, Monte Rosso, Rancho Felice, & Murray Ranch. Another very pretty effort, more fruit than the '05, more youthful obviously with bigger but round tannins that reverberate across the palate, tar, blackberry, earth, full bodied, wow. Another wine to seek out.

Aged cab that has matured well with dark fruit and a bit of rust/dust aroma. Silky in mouth and a wonderful, medium finish.

Really nice wine really delivers. Great notes of fruit on both the nose and the palate, long finish with some subtle tannins.

Not quite ready just yet. Many earthy tones , not a lot of fruit expressing through. Open the drinking window no earlier than 2020.
