13% alcohol. Pretty good long cork with little wine penetration. Decanted an hour ahead. Dark colour with no noticeable thinning at the edge of the rim. The nose is rich, bordering on opulent, with dark berries, tobacco and clear (but not obtrusive) oak influence, resulting in a pretty harmonious if heady brew. The mouth is similarly pleasing with plenty of roundness, reasonable acidity and some sweetness in the finish; a crowd pleaser as a result. I wonder about the M proportion here. I most certainly did not buy this bottle, but I am glad that I tasted it, and it certainly has a lot going for it, but is it trying a bit too hard to woo you?

Potentiellement 91/92

Cedar, spice box, tobacco leaf, with cherry hand candy and a good finish. With wines like this, showing these distinctive taste/sensory markers, I can remember the wine very clearly a day later.
