Lovely, medium-bodied wine, dark and brooding. A little funk blows off quickly yielding inviting aromas of brambly dark berries, cherries, dried herbs. Good acidity braced by firm tannins. Long satisfying finish that smacks of dark chocolate and a tough of anise. Drink soon.

Medium garnet color with mild clearing at rim - no obvious bricking noted Nice aromas of sweet red and black fruit with secondaries of licorice and fresh herbs High pitched palate of red and black fruit with graphite and curry leaf Medium plus acidity as expected with medium plus alcohol and medium tannins - really nice length This wine is quite dark for a Barbera (Serralunga) and is drinking very well currently Holding its own at 9 yrs old and shows little sense of sliding any time soon Drink now but no need to hurry

Single blind tasting Ruby Aromatics medium +. Ripe black cherry, early graphite that later seems to fade. Later green shrub leaf. No oak. Dry glass aromatics dominated by the green leaf. Palate medium +. Acid medium +. Tannins medium, fine on teeth and gums. Alcohol medium +. Cherry. Secondary of the green leaves noted on the nose. Finish has a medium length. Well balanced despite the alcohol due to the acidity and fruit. I would drink now. Interesting, most sites suggest limited aging, but this has held up beautifully over 9 years.
