  Great value, very enjoyable. Notes of licorice, vanilla and earth. Nice tannins and acid.

  Fruktig, lite utvecklad doft med blåbär, björnbär, blå plommon, ek, eukalyptus och choklad. Medelfyllig smak med fruktig början, ekig strävhet i mittpartiet, fin syra, bra längd med sammansatta toner och varm avslutning.

  Very, very drinkable. Dark fruits in the nose. On the palate dark berries, vanilla and licorice with significant tannins and medium acidity in an almost perfect balance. Long, dry aftertaste.

  In line with La Spinetta Barbera wines I had previously. Perfectly mature black and blue berries are apparent in the nose. On the palate these are joined by aromatic florals, liquorice and even a touch of vanilla, in a good concentration. The balance is near perfect with a touch more acidity than previous vintages I tasted, if my memory serves me right. The juicy character is emphasised by savoury, fresh blackberry (bramble). The intense nature keeps up to the end, which has a bit of pepper to it. Tannins are modest and yield a dry impression in the finish.

  This wine is characteristic of the best of Barbera. Asti’s have always seemed a bit more acidic than the Alba’s, but the structural roundness of this wine handles that acidity and uses it to enhance the taste overall.
