This is drinking entirely consistently with my last note from a few years ago, although the tannins are pretty integrated at this point. It's drinking great right now, and I think would be good through another year or two standalone like I'm doing tonight, or with burgers or steak sandwiches and such. 88-89

I concur w/ others in that this is a good QPR cab at the $14 I paid. Dense, opaque coloring with purplish ruby at the edges. Aromas of cassis, blueberry, plum, black cherry, dark chocolate, a smokey, toasty oak note, and graphite. Medium body, medium(+) acid and finish, lightly grippy tannins (I'm drinking this w/out food), and flavors of dark and dark red fruits, complimentary oak spice, and a touch of mineral. Mid-palate's a little hollow, but overall hard to complain here. Well done.

Not sure about the low scores for this wine. I've been able to experience at least 4 vintages of this wine and each one is just simply good and reliable. They are never overly complex or sophisticated. But, what they are...are nicely balanced, highly drinkable, and a good blend of both old and new world wine making with some really nice nuances. Oak is just enough of a touch to give the wine some round creaminess on the finish to compliment the fruit. Excellent QPR. I'll continue to seek this out and purchase...even in tough vintages.

This is smoothing out and drinking even better now than 1-2 years prior. Delicious stuff.
