WSET Level 2 Class; 9/13/2018-11/4/2018 (The Texas Wine School): Very good quality Cabernet Sauvignon that is clear, deep ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with a medium intensity. It has aromas and flavors of black cherry, black current, blueberry, cooked plum, honey, oak, vanilla, tobacco, leather, baking spice, savory mushroom, toast, and clove. On the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, high tannins, full body, and a medium finish.
This is a wonderful example of what an Alexander Valley Cab should be. Very smooth tannins and fairly complex, older characteristics without tasting "old". Could have only been better with a longer finish and a little more body and intensity. Would be great with a steak for sure!

Taste this wine about a year ago and gave it 75 points but opened over the weekend and was very nice for the price. Gave it 89 points. This wine had nice color......rose in color, full body and finished well.

Good California Cab. Some smoky, tobacco notes. Well balanced with medium acidity. Drank better after decanting.
