Pop and pour. In the glass, clear medium-dark ruby red, slight violet tinge at the rim. On the nose, cherries, baking spice, and a bit of citrus. On the palate, ample cherries and blueberries, with a thread of orange peel throughout, leading to a structured, moderately tannic, and long finish. Drinkable now, but there are enough unresolved tannins to suggest more positive cellar time ahead.

Saturday evening at ES BK with Davyd Ramblings gang. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of intense sweet berries, fragrant spices, orange peel, ripe red cherries, campfire, cool alpine. Developed. On the palate, dry, high dipping to medium+ acidity with air, high alcohol (14.2%), medium+ tannins, almost full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of concentarted ripe red berries and cherries, fragrant big spice, integrated toast oak and woody campfire. Long finish. Very good quality. Big fruity expressive and all ready to party into the night. Will maintain at this peak for 4-5 years probably.

Return to Willamette; 7/2/2023-7/8/2023 (Portland & Willamette): Bright. Lots of fruit. Much more intense than the burgundy. More berries. Very young still. Drinks alright but I think it will benefit from more time still. Going to let ours wait.

Tasty, deep fruit on the palate, softness and smooth on the finish.

Still wonderfully fresh and certainly alluring, even if somewhat over-the-top. Great with spicy BBQ.
