Went very well with homemade pizza and a good value under$20. No Sicilian "heat" at all in the flavor, nicely balanced, nice raspberry showed after one hour in decanter. Still can go a couple more years.

Decanted this for an hour, the nose stayed on the primal side with light cherry, raspberry and slight earth tones. The palate came across mainly as a tart slice of cherry, with not much else going on. Fared slightly better when paired with pasta bolognese. All in all a very simple food wine.

My first taste, to my knowledge, of the Frappato grape. I bought it specifically because it was a grape I hadn't tried before. I like trying unusual varietals. It's okay. Not particularly tannic or flavourful. I'm glad I tried it but probably won't buy it again for a while. Tastes like a wine that should be drunk a little younger. A little austere. Definitely a food wine. I was expecting better for $17. A little disappointed I guess.
