  • Floral, spicy, meaty on the nose with notes of red cherries and dark berries. On the palate earthy with good acidity. Good concentration of fruit, again spicy with good depth and length. Drink or keep. 91-93

  • Let the bottle breath for some 30 minutes, probably on the short side. Dark red ruby wine with awsome aromas. Dark red and black fruits, wood and 'cellar' notes. Good fruit taste and good balance, and soft tannins. Long aftertaste. We enjoyed this with a Norwegian christmas fish dish (Lutefisk) and this was a very good match (unfortunately the fish was not all that great, but can't blame that on the wine )

  • The wine displays beautiful aromas and flavors of black berries, smoke, coal, tobacco, iron, minerals and herbs on the nose and on the palate. The taste is intensive, but I had expected the wine to be more fruity and full-bodied. As a whole, this is a fine and pleasant Côte-Rôtie that is in a nice drinking spot at the moment.

  • Late night at home with Tim. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Pop and poured and drank over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, initially pronounced intensity with soaring floral violets, the n toned down a bit to medium+ intensity, with other aromas of elegant blood iron meat, dark red cherries, white pepper spice. Developing.
On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), soft medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of juicy black cherries, dark red cherries, blackberries, violet juice, white pepper, and some rich meat with air. Medium to medium+ finish only though.
Very good quality. Can still develop and improve over the next 2-3 years, though it seems to me that this is made in a softer elegant earlier drinking style. Floral Syrahs can really turn you on. Possibility of 1% Viognier in this?

  • A l'aveugle
