  • Dense and concentrated with dark ripe fruit. Still youthful. Not as complex as usual. That may come out with further bottle aging.

  • 35% cabernet sauvignon, 35% granacha, and 30% carignan sourced from the Montstant region of Catalonia, Spain, aged 1 year in new French oak, 14.5% ABV, not mevushal. Appearance was a deep, opaque garnet with some bricking at the rim, heavy viscosity, and moderate sediment throughout. Nose was high intensity with dark fruits and spices galore, black cherries, black raspberries, sugar plum, ripe figs, fruitcake, tobacco leaves, old worn leather, cigar box, cloves, baking spices, and vanilla. On the palate it was full bodied, ripe extracted fruit at the fore, followed by earthy notes and strong dusty tannins with medium acidity. Ripe cassis, plum sauce, black licorice, loamy earth, soy sauce, smoke, allspice, cacao, and cola. Finish was long silky and powdery finish of dutch cocoa. This one has aged gracefully and the still strong tannins and ripe fruit notes would indicate that it still has some legs for continued gaining. Still, it is drinking beautifully now. Was thoroughly enjoyed with a standing rib roast. 92+.

  • Impenetrable purple-black color, powerful and expressive nose of ripe black cherries, forest floor and spices,
Palate is quite tight and tannic, opening up slowly into a rich and floral wine with great acidity
    Lovely wine
