Three hour decant helped this absolutely wonderful wine that nudged out 2009 Tusk as WOTN. Pleasant, but powerful nose, well integrated rich black cherry and smooth long finish.

This lush and layered Rutherford Cabernet is drinking beautifully right now, with stunning power, integration, and texture. This needs several hours to settle into its groove, but what a groove it is - ripe, dusty, round, deep, original - just fantastic. I wish it were (a lot) cheaper, but there's no denying that this is a great wine.
Inky red in color and full in body, the wine offers explosive aromas of boysenberry, sour cherry, graphite, bay leaf, and menthol. The flavors are similarly powerful, with notes of blueberry tart, fresh leather, anise, eucalyptus, and dried herbs, with a silky and integrated finish that carries some dust (yes, Rutherford, all that) but so much polish. This is decadent and delicious and precise, all at once. 14.8% alcohol. Drink in next 3-5 years.

Good juice, but given its pedigree and price, I was somewhat underwhelmed.
