I am curious about this wine; I got the bacon fat. gaminess and rambly fruit initially when we opened the bottle up to the first 20 minutes or so ; ; unfortunately the finish faded quickly after that; Had it with a fabulous grilled ribeye and onions wich was a good pairing; I just curious if it has the structure to go much longer; I drank it an hour later with some steak left over and it was just ok; I kept trying to feel any lingering favors after the first mouthfeel and it just faded quickly; was it still tight after decanting it and then drinking it over 2-3 hours; Does it have the acid and structure to go much longer. that is the question; I have one more bottle and I will wait a couple of year to decide;

Big fan of Paul's Syrahs, this is no exception. Beautiful balance, not very peppery for a Syrah, which is my preference. Allows the fruit to shine. Showing well now, still has time to further mature, but very drinkable now.

Beautiful Santa Ynez Syrah from one of my favorite vineyards and wine makers.
This is a somewhat subtle Syrah…not bone-crushing like some of the Washington Syrahs (which I also enjoy).

Dark fruit profile and very well balanced. Smoke, spice and licorice. Delicious...
