Smooth as silk and not at all "hot" despite alcohol in the 17% range. Red fruits and then dark plums. 5 minute flavor tail on the palate. Probably has 15 years left of evolution. Expect cedar , tobacco flavors to show in the next decade. It is a stunning amarone.

Discovering Italian Wine Class at the Texas Wine School. A blend of 30% Corvina, 35% Corvinone, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara and 5% Raboso Veronese. Deep ruby with a tawny hue. Clean, complex, developed, with dried black cherry, dried plum, dark chocolate, caramel, dried fig, espresso, brown sugar and sweet baking spices. Aged for 40 mos. in very large oak casks. Dry but bursting with rich ripe fruit and 8-9 gr. of RS. Med acidity, med tannins. The alcohol is high at 16%, but the wine is so well balanced that the alcohol appears much lower. Full-bodied, with pronounced flavor intensity, a luscious, velvety-smooth mouthfeel and a long, complex finish. Fairly developed but should show well for the next few years.
