89 bordering on 90, this certainly delivered more than I was hoping for. A bottle that has been kept in great storage conditions since purchase just over 6 years ago, it was not intended to be kept for this long but sort of forgot about it. Has a lot of Freisa about it, fresh acidity and quite tannic. Floral with roses and violets, mineral with iron and tar, dark fruit that seems affected by the Merlot and CS inclusion to the darker end of the spectrum, black currant and Cherry. A little hint of dark chocolate and the tiniest hint of leathery maturity. It's not like I am going to start laying down new vintages of this wine, but I was happy that it delivered so much drinking pleasure. CT drink latest of 2020 was certainly pessimistic unless you have stored the bottle poorly.

Good, but better with fruit. Acidity is quite prominent. Fruit profile is quite dark, but not roasted. Leather and tar elements. More brute force than elegance/polish. Enjoyed with food but a little too much on its own.

The 2012 is better - they went a little heavy with the Merlot and Cab this year and it tastes as such on the palate. This seems more like a modern wine with a hint of the Langa terroir.

I was in a rush and picked this up thinking it was 100% Nebbiolo. Very dry out of the gate, needs a decent amount of air. Ironically I've had a few 2011 Barolo's that were more open initially than this wine was.
