A surprise at a CdP tasting. Loud bouquet of green pear, honeycomb, minerals, and sea spray. Taste profile and mouthfeel similar to high quality off-dry Loire Chenin Blanc. Gritty and grainy, serious acid, generous finish. 91-92.

Notes from CDP tasting - similar to the Comte De Lauze but more focused fruit with a beam of fresh pears with the fruit pith, wax, honey on a weighted palate.

The wine was a rather light straw colour. The nose was intensely floral and also showed stone fruits. When the wine warmed up a little, creamy soft cheese aromas not unlike brie appeared. The palate was pretty light and had a almost weightless texture. Very different to the Leroy tried earlier. This wine needs a while in the cellar before providing the utmost pleasure it can deliver. Possibly 3 - 4 years would do it much good.

Not showing too much at the moment. Very light and pure with interesting aromas of cheese, peaches, white flowers. Not as oily or unctous as most of the Rhone whites I've had. This perhaps needs some time to evolve.
