Bright red fruits, spice and although a bit new world-ish, with vanilla, cocoa and oak notes, this had character, balance and more than just hedonistic appeal. Fun, open knit and easy drinking. The tannins are a bit rustic, so this would probably be best with food.

Pleasant enough, quite a bit Touriga Nacional notes coming through. Lots of black pepper too which is interesting. Dark ripe fruits, spice, blk pepper, etc

Pop and pour and served with food (roast tenderloin, in case you were wondering). Then followed without food for about two hours. Nose of fresh berries and some cedar and oak. Good lively acidity on the intro, turning to fresh berries and bright red fruits. Shows a little bit of brown spice and some oak but the touch of oak is light. Acidity a bit on the high end. Good.

Anyone know the component varietals of this wine? Portuguese varietals presumably?
