Dark with some slight browning on the edge. Very nice nose with some leather and tar notes, but good fruit. Lush and somewhat sweet on the palate, but still a good amount of acidity on the finish..

Still a solid red in color, but with a ring of auburn/brown on the edges of the glass. Subtle but inviting nose with floral notes and a mild touch of herb. On the palate, an initial hint of sweetness that reminds me of strawberries. Like some strawberries, the sweetness is followed by a gradual awareness of acidity. Subdued, but still substantial, tannins grow to a crescendo at the end. Somewhere in there is also a bit of tobacco. The finish lingers a bit, with a return of the strawberry that invites another taste.
This one is not for the faint of heart, but I found it to be a pleasing wine with substantial character and complexity. It might last a bit longer but is drinking very nicely now.

Definitely on the old side, although still structured. Somewhat marmite-y, marginally oxidized, nose. Drinkable but definitely past its best.

consistent with my prior notes. Shared with Brad & Sue at their Hood River home after Mt Hood bike race.
