  • Christmas family dinner 2023

    NV Drappier Carte d*Or Champagne (1 magnum) - 90p
Brilliant Pinot Noir based apero (75% PN, 15% Chardonnay, 10% Meunier) with 7g/L dosage.

2020 Weingut Jakob Schneider Niederhäuser Klamm Riesling Trocken (1 magnum) - 94p
WOTN for me, no surprise Parker rated this 95p! Vibrant, elegant, zingy palate with incredible length and depth, light petrol, lots of minerals, yellow plums, and perfect acidity.

2021 Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Gelblack trocken (3 bottles) - 90p
I tried all Gelblack vintages since 2013 and this is imo the best one since 2015. Creamy and highly mineralic Riesling with peaches and salty herbs.

2015 Villa Al Cortile Brunello di Montalcino (2 bottles) - 91p
2h decant, much better after 4h. Light crimson red colour. Herbal-juicy palate with tart cherries, strong tannins, acidiy, tarragon, and leather. Excellent food pairing with homemade Beef Wellington.

    2014 Château Faugeres (1 bottle) - 91p
2h decant. Dark red almost black colour. Lovely silky palate with black and blue berries, light licorice, chocolate and oak. Suckling rated this 94p and WA 92p. Might get there in a couple of years.

  • This wine has an expressive nose that's very inviting. It's got all the varietal qualities of an East bank Bordeaux (plum, dark cherry, and sage) being that it's about 80% Merlot and the remainder a mix of Cab Franc and Cab Sauv. The body is medium along with plenty of elegance for a still young Bordeaux. The tannins are integrating very well. This is an excellent wine considering it was only $38 from WTSO. I'm buying more while it's still available.

  • Huge nose that I can smell from three feet away. Just a beautiful integrated palate too. Loved it.

  • Dark ruby to the eyes. Rich earth to the nose, presence of clay stones. Medium acidity to the mouth.

  • Decant for an hour. It shows great maturity. The color is dark purple. It is full of blackberry, cherry and plum fruit aromas. It tastes like blackberries and blueberries. Soft and mellow, easy to drink.
