Community Tasting Notes (5) Median Score: 88 points

  • Bright and intense black cherries and ripe blue berries with undertones of toasty coconut and masala spices. Delicious nose. Palate is fruity rich and spicy from entry to finish. Transition from entry to mid-palate is non-existent.
Somewhat BBQ fat mid-palate and a racy and powerful finish. Tannins provide the backbone structure for the wine but is not well integrated at the moment. Promising nose but palate lacks layering and refinement if it is drunk within a hour. After 3 hrs, the wine opens up more and has better mid-palate notes and smoother finish. A few more years of aging will achieve better balance.

  • Very deep colour and excellent fruit on the nose. Lovely sweet fruit on the very open palate - rich dark cherry with some 'sour cherry stone' character. A touch of pepper on the middle/late palate and some balanced vanillic oak to hold it all together.
Tasted with Ben Smith of Concha y Toro UK at Grand Union Wine Society.

  • Intense black fruit nose, ripe sweet flavours and fruit forward but not jammy with good balance. Enjoyed it.

  • Ripe black and blue fruits on the medium intensity nose along with black cherry and cedar oak aromas. It's full-bodied with Asian spice, blue fruit, vanillan, and some earthy flavours. Acids are very good, while the finish is long with dusty tannins.

  • spicy nose with lots of plummy fruit, cooked fruit, but not jammy, nice lift to the nose
Very very smooth, ripe tangy fruit, ripe soft tannin
Peppery and juicy, whisper of oak and a touch of leather on the end
    classy
Managed to drink the bottle pretty much to myself over the course of an evening whilst watching Clint Eastwood films.
A good wine, therefore, to drink with Westerns.
