Gotta agree with "wine ratings" on the pronounced tannin at this point in time. Certainly not a Parker fruit bomb! Seems odd to decant a $10 wine, but this needs it, and remarkably, stands up to it. Certainly drinkable now with beef, lamb etc. but some time in the bottle should help integrate fruit, tannins, and acidity, resulting in a more rounded wine, but even now for the $, I like it!

Tannins, tannins, and more tannins! Almost astringently so. Both the nose and palate were full of expected notes, albeit excellent ones: red and black fruits, herbs, spice, earth, and meat. I think they may really have something here - definitely an interesting entry from an unexpected region (export-wise, in any case). But what to do about those tannins...can a bottle at this price point be worthy of laying down to see if they will mellow? Only one way to find out! All of the hints of greatness are there, though perhaps not quite as balanced and integrated as one would like. Still, for that price I'll gladly take something that's 'not quite' there (such incredible value)!
