Stumbled upon a few bottles for a steal at auction (the last of my original 3 disappeared early in the pandemic). Wishing I bought every bottle that was available in the lot. Easily identifiable as a Staves, but I would've guessed at least 2 or 3 years younger. I don't think its aggressive to say this has plenty of time left. My patience to hold on to the last bottle will fade before it does.

So glad that this got lost in my cellar. When first opened I was reminded of a 10 year old Chave. Wonderful creamy texture with totally integrated stone fruit. Fruit became more forward as the wine opened. If you like older whites this one should be good for a number of years.

The oak has integrated since we tasted this in 2016. Still an interesting SB. Not the most aromatic SB. Stone fruit dominates nose, on palate mineral, grapefruit, citrus. Drink now. Me - 90, Wife - 91

Inviting nose; lemon grass and minerals on the palate; oak, present but not overwhelming, did give us the sensation of drinking a Chardonnay.

everything you would expect from an SB; herbal, citrusy, but with an unctuous creamy finish that lingered
