Ruby with slight browning at the rim. Initially pronounced dried raisin / plum note both on attack and finish. More balanced over time but this note of overripe / burned fruit does not go entirely away. Fine tannin. Medium finish. 88-89

C de Nuits Premier & Grand Crus (La Trompette, London): Starts off a little TCP medicinal but this clears to an over-ripe raspberry ripple effect and then settles down to a more subdued though still quite vibrant red-fruited nose. Nicely forward, still young, not particularly subtle but it relaxes slightly whilst maintaining a slightly foresquare character. bare ****
