  • 1st time with this wine, though I've found the 'Mux' to be a pretty solid QPR in a few vintages. Medium ruby with some transparency. Earthy, vegetal nose with soil, root vegetables, celery, anise, minerals, smoke, dark fruits, and a bit of floral showing. Medium bodied and light on its feet, medium acid, short finish, and with flavors of dark and dark red fruits and a bit of minerals and spice. This is a fairly light and easy wine, and I think it's overpriced even at the "sale" price of $30 paid. I'd pair this with lighter fare, in spite of its darker fruited nature—you could pair this with more robust preparations of fish and foul. We're having this with a "hamburger" soup that's still cooking, so I guess we'll see, but I'm kind of wishing I went with my first thought of a Washington cab. Anyway, it's aight. 87-88

  • A bit like a Cabernet but lighter and more vegetal. Actually lovely for such a black-fruited and inky wine.
