First day sucked. It was flat and uninspiring. Day two, filled out with lift and texture. Not my favourite vintage for bojo but one of my fave bottlings of bojo. From pretty old ass vines, 100 years? There is concentration and sappiness, a touch of kirsch from the warm vintage. Has many more years, just never sure how much better it will get though.

Lost and found. This mines something really deep and authentic that is not common even from the many superstar and traditional producers in the region. Integrates the oak treatment as expertly as the premium Jadot cru bottlings, and with a lower, darker tone. The palate cleansing acidity rides this to the finish line--a long, intense finish that is more pinot-like, akin to a mature Mercurey 1er Cru. Fully mature. Drink up.

Interesingly matured Beaujolais. Cloudy garnet, slightly dull as you would expect with the sediment. Funky fruit compote nose. The time on oak gives this an unexpected depth combined with attractive creaminess. Good equilibrium of fruit, acidity & tannins. Not my expectation of Beaujolais, and all the better for it.
