blind I guessed DP 1996 regular disgorgement, oyster shell, toasted toast, not too reductive. Now the P2 starts to reach the accessibility of the regular. I would now begin to drink the P2. Still preferring a bottle aged but now the pendulum swings. 96(98)

Flight of 96 Dom. This was defintely drinking the youngest compared to the Oeno and the regular release 96. Less evolved this is a great mix of fruit and acid. Would seem to have 50 more years of age left. Toast, coffee, lemon, brioche and some bready notes. Perfect balance. Its a baby - good now with upside.

Dom Perignon P2/P3 Dinner (New York City): Served too cold. As it warmed, it started to give way to more of the wine. The nose was incredible from the start but, from the jump, the wine was tight and fizzy. I needed to give this more time than I could afford. I would try this again.

DP Extravaganza! (Friend's place): So interestingly enough I liked this more than the Oenotheque which was not the consensus with the group. This is the youngest of the three and my opinion was based totally on promise. This with age struck me as the wine that was likely to win. Plus it had a bit of pear and vanilla in there and I am a fan of the champagnes that have a touch of fruit.

Not the best bottle as it had lost most of its bubbles but still beautiful
