  • This is the type of New World Pinot I love. The nose is loaded with dark fruit, Belgian chocolate, and purple flowers, all laced with a lovely feral component. It possesses real depth and vinosity, great length and balance, with sultry textures and layers of black raspberries, dark cherries, and wood spice flavors that just glide across the palate. It was a thrill to drink this style of wine tonight.

  • 4.3 Revisiting this wine after 10 months. Still drinking wonderfully with dark cherry fruit, dominating the overall flavor profile of this wine, along with some cedar, lavender and cinnamon. Paired wonderfully with our grilled salmon.

  • This Pinot noir is sun and fog. it is sublime with fruit and earth, equally at home with blackened salmon and beef roast. The nose is subtle but the layers and aftertaste are memorable.

  • A great PN, very elegant wine with wonderful aromas of Bing cherry fruit, lavender, baking spice and forest floor. The flavors are beautifully integrated. The red cherry fruit is very balances, not dominanting, with the loamy cedar forest floor and baking spices. The finish is sublime. Drinking great now and probably will be over the next two or three years.

  • I'm rating this the same as the flagship Pahlmeyer Pinot noir- it had a wonderful, intense, and very similar profile of bright, highly aromatic fruit, almost bordering on citrus, with a touch of dark cherry in the background- as well as some light forest floor-type qualities, a little minerally.
I'd say it was around 75% as intense as the flagship, but only sells for around half the price. Nice QPR for a high quality CA Pinot. Some age might accentuate the secondary notes a little better.
