2015 is not my favourite year for Margaret River Cabernet, but I think Woodlands made wine of the vintage with their top Cabernet - the Russell.
This isn’t bad either. It has softened nicely but isn’t closed down - there is a good synergy with the fruit (red fruits / slightly earthy / some euc) and oak. The bouquet upon opening was magnificent - pure, pungent, classic Cabernet flavours. And plenty of length too.
If you’re short of bottles to open this is perhaps one to drink while the 16’s slowly mature.

Beautiful, dry, not too much tanin

The wine benefited from a few hours of breathing. Great wine, rounded and complex with silky tannins.

Drank well but not outstanding. Suggest try again in 5 years to see how it’s developing. Feels could go a long way.

(quick note) Blackberry and rich plum. Good use of oak for complexity but not overpowering
