It needed that extra day to show its class. Rather superficial on the first day. But on the second day, the wine had acquired structure. I would give it a further 4-5 years.
I still have my doubts, however, about these post climate change vintages.
A lot of fruit, but there is something that is missing from the classical style of claret.

This wine is not much for me at the moment. 2016 was an excellent year for left-bank Bordeaux. This wine should reflect that excellence, but it does not. Certainly, very drinkable, with dark berry fruits and soft tannin. Perhaps the latter will open up in time to produce a greater wine.

Just a quick note on my second bottle from a three pack and a similar impression to five months ago. Pretty classic, stately claret with pleasing definition and structure. Maybe entering a slightly closed point? I suspect it will show better in 3-5 years or more.

Cherry, cassis, mint, moist earth. Medium body, good balance, medium finish. Expect improvement over the next decade. Very good to excellent.
