Pnp. Big and tannic. Needed about an hour, maybe two to really shine and then it was so impressive. Typical aged rosenblum, dark dried fruit, tar, tobacco. Complex and long. Really great wine. Lots of life left.

High neck fill but a dry cork broke on extraction. Excellent deep garnet color with browning rims. Lovely, expansive bouquet. Great body with warm tannins and lots of concentration. Not too hot or sweet despite 14.9 % alcohol. Thick, spicy fruit on palate. Claret like - not a one dimensional fruit bomb. Very faint sediment in last glass. A couple of years past peak but in graceful decline. A superb Zinfande!. 92/100.

This has aged really well since we bought it at their tasting room- the 14.9% alcohol did not play any part at all and I was shocked that it was that high- the fruit while still lively had some great peppery notes which seems to have been winemaker'd(is that a word) out of todays Zin's- this was very elegant, easy drinking and what a California Zin should taste like
