I decanted this before trying and was surprised by the light mahogany red colour. Looked like a Burgundy with some ageing. Nose is spicy with savory undergrowth characters and red fruit.
On the palate, it is light to medium bodied and low to moderate acidity. It has quite sweet fruit in the front palate more like a Pinot Noir, but also spice and tobacco. Thee is a touch of oak but seems like it is well aged.
While I like it, I don’t consider it to be Brunello do Montalcino class. Maybe Rosso level or Chianti Classico from an old fashioned producer. Is that all there is? Well I got it cheap (for Brunello) and I’d only buy at a moderate price.

Fairly light Brunello, nice balance, gentle fruit, light tannins, drank with poached red snapper, I know, it was a big table in a restaurant, $76 on wine list, might drink again but why?
