Delicious strawberry, liquorice and rose in an intoxicatingly feminine package, with sweet, racy acidity and a firm puckering tannic finish. Very Burlotto monvigliero, a tonne of power, laden with refinement and bucket loads of pleasure, this is really, really very good. 93

Opened last night. One of the better bottles I’ve had of this wine. Bitter cherry notes in the nose. Pallet is Rich, tasty, tart, piquant. This is drinking very well right now, but has plenty of stuffing for further aging. 4-12-15-8: 89/100

Popped and poured. Better than the last bottle. Good dark red with violet rim. Solid fruit in the nose, very characteristic. Good flavor as well. Went well with my pasta. Good grip. 4-11-15-7: 87/100

Opened two days ago. This has an offputting sour note in the mouth that I simply cannot get past. The color is a good dark cranberry, and it smells like Barbera, but in the mouth it really is musky, sour, and finishes that way as well. I hope it is just this bottle, because I bought three. Nonetheless, something clearly wrong with this particular bottle. 55/100.

Monthly Tasting at Wine Wizards (Wine Wizards Stockton): Big dark juicy Barbera, not too wood impacted like some. A good wine to show some Lodi and Foothill friends that like 15% alcohol Barberas, because the wood is in context with the fruit. To big for me these days but well done in that style.
