This is back in a good place (or is it me). Beautiful nose, plenty of acid on the mid-palate, lovely finish. I like this a lot. No way of knowing how much life is left in this but it is drinking great now. Go for it if you have a couple and judge for yourself!!

-- decanted 1 hr. before initial taste -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hrs. --
NOSE: expressive; underbrushy, with some light oak and buttery lemon; medium richness; pretty standard/straightforward Chardonnay aromas.
BODY: cork soaked halfway; medium golden yellow color; medium-light to medium bodied.
TASTE: surprisingly light, and lacking in drive; most of the action is on the mid palate; lots of mineral; comes across as a ripe-but-somewhat-weak-Chablis; medium to medium+ acidity; alc. not noticeable (12.5%); finish is of medium-light intensity, but it actually carries-on for quite some time -- certainly longer than the flavor intensity would suggest. Drink Now.

From 500ml. I have never been much of a Bearwallow believer, but this really impressed me. The nose is at turns reticent, but in flashes it shows a combination of wet stone, pear, nutmeg, and walnut skin that would not be out of place in a lineup of Puligny 1er crus. The palate is broad in presentation and full without viscosity, and there's a sneaky acidic streak that creeps in on the side palate as well. The finish has good focus on the mid palate, with green apple making an appearance to complement the minerality of the aromas. Really very impressive and in early maturity. Sorry I don't have more.

This bottle felt really off - not bad, nothing unpleasant, but very muted, hardly recognizable as chardonnay. Not much there. Very strange.

Nice halfway point between a classic rich Cali chard and a richer style Meursault.
