  • I second Seekingbalance. Beautiful mouth feel but, based on the nose, possibly slightly over the edge. Time in the glass will tell me more.

  • This is actually delicious.
I suggest drinking cooler than you might imagine. Maybe 55 deg (F).
    Open/decant.

Dark color with translucent, almost transparent rim and good legs.

A gorgeous nose of dark flowers, red fruits some black fruits, some pepper, maybe white? Body / palate has nice acidity, some minerals, and the silkiest tannins imaginable (and not many). yet it has the stricture that comes of balance.

    medium length.

    For what i paid ($15ish), i'm impressed.

Most of this magic was lost at room temperature.

    Another bottle Nov 2023:
    ____________________

None of the magic. Decent Rhone style wine, but darker nature, rougher tannin, and the wonderful nose was not there. Bottle variation? In decline? Or Dumb phase? hmmmm

    Update Nov 2023 - Day #2
    ______________________

    Bottle vacuumed and refrigerated overnight.

Opened and decanted for 30 minutes before consumption, open about an hour during.
Consumed ~ 55-58 degF (yes, seemingly cold)

Better! It does not match what I wrote originally above, but much of the freshness is back, nose is more complex (but still subdued) and the tannins finer. less of an over-ripe/scorched character. As it warms s small % returns so this is a combination of opening (long) and cooler suits it _ which i note i originally wrote. Funny that :-)

Might it de-dumb? Maybe, maybe not.

  • A nose of muted fruit, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Rhone blend, with black cherry, plum, dry finish. www.winelx.com

  • Yeah, this pretty much sucked. Dry, with bitter oak, tannin and muted fruit. The fruit that did show was dry, tar like and not very good. This may be good to cook with, but was not good on Day 1 or 2. This had me reconsidering my Gary V subscription, which has seemed to evolved into a grocery store quality

  • Quite good, dark fruit with depth and concentration. Long finish, drink now or over the next few years.
