Light yellow. Nose of burned matches, grilled lemon, toast, and wax. The wine is surprisingly full-bodied with oak, sweet citrus, and pine. Medium viscous.

Ready now. Truly exceptional Chablis -- unctuous but crisp at same time. Notes of 'yuzu', orange peel, balanced by oak but with no hint of 'butteriness" (such as a California Chardonnay would have for example). Great with cheese and white meat/fish in relatively hearty sauces.

It took three days for this wine to lose its fat and permit its structure to emerge. But now it has. What a wonderful balance of sweet-acidic fruit and mineral. And that clarity on the palate that is the hallmark of this great wine producer. 2016 was not a easy year for Chablis, but this wine is stunning.

3 days in Napa: Arkenstone, Memento Mori, Maxem, The French Laundry, Christopher Tynan, Kinsman, Harlan, Vice Versa, Accendo, Fairchild, Macdonald, and a truckload of others (Napa): I truly dig this wine. I love the electricity and the supreme focus here. It is chiseled and detailed without being sterile and continues to offer so much zippy pleasure. Squirt, lemon-lime juice and zest, sea salt, and a hunk of chalk, this sprinter matches an uber pure and clean contour with a peppy vigor that makes for a flawless execution of citrusy wowness. Excellent acidity. This is exactly my jam for Chablis. Gotta find more of this! As I often say, drink now for the dynamism, or hold with confidence for additional complexity. Pick your pleasure and you’ll win either way.
