  • Lots of red and black berry aromas and flavors, with fresh and maturing notes in good harmony. Slightly more sweet vs savory spice. Good weight and length. A trace of new oak still protrudes, but only barely detracts from the overall balance. Drinking very nicely now.

  • Delightful pinot, with bing cherry and black raspberry fruit, hints of spice and underbrush. Not as seamless as a fine burgundy, but well balanced and in a very good place.

  • Holy wow. This was one of the best new world Pinots I have had in a long time (and I drink a *lot* of Pinot). It shows great in the glass, has a tremendous burst of fresh flavors on the palate, and just lingers in the most wonderful way. I am so glad I disregarded my own tasting notes and held a few bottles. Only one left in the cellar and I'm struggling to decide when to relive that experience. It's hard to believe that this is a 15-year old bottling. Tasted next to Mark Bradford Vineyard and Jerusalem Hill Vineyard, also from Domaine Serene and the 2004 vintage; the Evenstad Reserve not only held its own, but showed that the blends when done right can be so amazing.
