  Nez épanoui de prune confit, sel de céleri, de piment, ainsi que des notes de poussière, de pâte d'amandes et de vieille barrique. On dirait un nez d'Amarone / Valpolicella plutôt qu'un pinot ! Un vin velouté aux tannins soyeux. Fruit mature avec une acidité fraiche. Très fin avec un milieu de bouche qui éclate vers une longue finale juteuse. Saveur de réglisse également. Renversant comme vin vieillit ! 93+

  Lots of red and black berry aromas and flavors, with fresh and maturing notes in good harmony. Slightly more sweet vs savory spice. Good weight and length. A trace of new oak still protrudes, but only barely detracts from the overall balance. Drinking very nicely now.

  Delightful pinot, with bing cherry and black raspberry fruit, hints of spice and underbrush. Not as seamless as a fine burgundy, but well balanced and in a very good place.

  Holy wow. This was one of the best new world Pinots I have had in a long time (and I drink a *lot* of Pinot). It shows great in the glass, has a tremendous burst of fresh flavors on the palate, and just lingers in the most wonderful way. I am so glad I disregarded my own tasting notes and held a few bottles. Only one left in the cellar and I'm struggling to decide when to relive that experience. It's hard to believe that this is a 15-year old bottling. Tasted next to Mark Bradford Vineyard and Jerusalem Hill Vineyard, also from Domaine Serene and the 2004 vintage; the Evenstad Reserve not only held its own, but showed that the blends when done right can be so amazing.

  Decanted and poured. Beautiful earthy notes of raspberries and truffle. Drank with roasted chicken and vegetables. Others in group rated 94+
