A medium red, but very slightly brickish on the edges, surprising. Nose ok, I could probably get to Chianti, but only with heavy hints. It's a bit international really. Slightly dusty, cigar box and so on. On the one hand it tastes and looks older than it is, on the other it has touch of youth and heat about it. I wonder if this has been stored badly. Still, it's ok, quite nice red cherry fruit, and per the CT price you can't say it's bad value. At the BA lounge, Heathrow. If you're looking for sensational (and to recoup flight costs) stick with the LPGS...

By the glass at the BA Lounge , LHR. On the freshly opened side. A quite modern chianti classico, as ironic such an oxymoron label sounds. Dominated at this stage by sweet toasted oak which in a way blends well with the ripe sweet cherry notes of the fruit. As chianti classico as it doesn’t get but frankly much better than the majority of the appellation at this level. 89

Excellent Chianti Classico. Dusty tannins upon opening which softened by day 2. Lovely black cherry fruit and hints of licorice root. Could improve over the next 2-3 years.

Medium garnet.
Medium intensity on the nose with raspberry, red currant, dried fruit, dried herbs, vanilla, and leather.
Medium intensity on the palate. High acidity, medium tannins, high alcohol, medium plus finish.
Enjoyable chianti with decent balance, length, intensity and complexity.

Still very young and fresh. Pair great with lasagne. Licorice, fig, black fruit, wet dirt. Took a couple of hour to really open up. Very nice.
