  • OK, 2.5 yrs on, this has transitioned away from the Rhône-like aspect. Still, it’s so unlike any other cab, it’s hard to fathom. Silky smooth and no tannins; that’s a problem. Good flavors, but with a Rocks distinction that complements syrah more than cab. That interesting minerality is not enough to carry it. The finish is so-so.

So, I still don’t get it. This is NOT a premium cab, rather a perfectly made wine from grapes with a very odd personality. Second bottle of two.

1/26/2021 Note: Not a cab; syrah, maybe. Smooth, mouth-watering, balanced, but more Rhone-like than Bordeaux. Very odd. No rating.

  • Double decant. Redcurrant and blackcurrant. Earthy and herbaceous. I would agree that it drinks a bit like rocks syrah. Silky smooth and well rounded.

  • Very pretty and very polished. While Cabernet Sauvignon was certainly discernible, the wine lacked the variety's customary power and appeal. Medium acid and light tannin also left something to be desired. It never really developed over the three days tasted. Lacking the 'Wow!' factor that several of the Syrah labels provide. Not a thing wrong with it, but nothing stands out either. Not an extended ager IMO. Drink by 2024-2027.
