  • Dark crimson red. Very strong brambly red fruit nose with a funky rhubarb element. Tart, simple, raspberry, somewhat unpleasant metallic aftertaste.

  • A bit disappointing. Was Luca Ferraris' Bric d'Bianc always like this? I remembered a very floral and aromatic wine, a bright nectar so pleasant to drink that you didn't even notice you had already finished a bottle.

Sure, this is a honest wine, but too structured, ripe, much less exuberant than what I expect from this grape variety. The aromatic side is subdued. There is much work in this wine, but maybe too much and the alcohol is 14% which surprised me.

When I had the Clàsic some days ago I thought I was drinking a "modern" style Ruché, a structured cuvée made to attract a specific audience and I was just satisfied to feel the interplay of aromas and power. However if even their standard bottling is like this (not very different from the Clàsic) maybe I was wrong and this is simply the (new?) philosophy of this producer.
