Still drinking like a big fruit forward syrah. A little rough around the edges when first opened, but calms down with some air and food. Drank next to a Betz Patriarche from the same vintage which was only marginally better despite the much higher price. This is a great QPR for a daily drinker.

Good, but overwrought with a manipulated, manufactured impression. Ripe, dark fruit with sweet, powdery tannins. The good news is that it's not cloying - it worked well with a spiced grilled dish. Still, a bit too much, no need to finish the bottle.

Good Washington syrah in the middle of its drinkability period. Still probably has 5 years, maybe more, to go, but right now it's got plush tannins and deep, brooding fruit. Still acidic and food friendly, though.

Pnp. A bit better from my previous experience with this wine. Has mellowed out some. Still very oaky and doesn’t taste like a syrah. Probably be even better in another year or two as the oak treatment continues to fade.

This is a fantastic QPR and a very pleasant, full fruity but integrated wine. I am not getting the ‘adulterated’ that is mentioned in other comments. If anything, this is starting to evolve slightly and take on some additional savory notes. This might be the best $14 wine I have had.
